Senior Fullstack Engineer

About Me

Senior Fullstack Engineer with a decade in production — partnering with US startups and product teams to ship reliable, high-craft web platforms, from last-mile delivery infrastructure at Nash to AI-integrated SaaS at CodelyticSoft.

Hi, I'm Nixon Bagui

I design and ship end-to-end web platforms where reliable back-end systems meet expressive, well-considered front-ends. Ten years in — across San Francisco delivery infrastructure, US product-engineering studios, and the Manila product community where I started — my work sits at the intersection of engineering rigour, product taste, and the operational discipline distributed teams need to ship continuously without breaking the things customers depend on.

Symph in Manila, Reach and Nash in San Francisco, CodelyticSoft today — four contexts, one trajectory. Symph taught me to build for real users from day one; Reach sharpened my front-end craft on production-scale cross-border commerce; Nash kept me close to the operations side of product as we scaled last-mile delivery infrastructure for retailers across the US; and CodelyticSoft is where rigour, AI integration, and senior ownership all converge. Each layer compounds: dependable systems, expressive interfaces, and the operational habits distributed teams need to ship continuously.

Embedded as the senior fullstack lead across a portfolio of US-based product engagements — from B2B SaaS launches to AI-integrated workflow platforms. Owning architecture, code review, and senior-track mentoring while shipping the high-stakes work clients escalate to senior engineers, with an emphasis on production reliability and measurable product outcomes.

  • Architected and shipped a multi-tenant AI workflow platform for a B2B SaaS client (Next.js 15, tRPC, Postgres + pgvector, OpenAI) — went from greenfield to first paying customer in 11 weeks and crossed $30K MRR within the first quarter
  • Led the migration of a legacy Express + jQuery codebase to a typed Next.js + tRPC stack across six engineers, cutting median feature lead time from 11 days to 4 and eliminating an entire class of runtime errors
  • Designed the firm's internal review framework — architecture decision records, pre-merge performance budgets, AI-assisted code review — now standard across every active engagement
  • Owned identity, RBAC, and billing infrastructure across multiple client codebases (Auth.js, Stripe Connect, fine-grained permissions) with zero billing or auth incidents in 18 months of operation
  • Integrated GPT-4o, Claude, and embedding pipelines into three client products, including a retrieval-augmented support assistant that now resolves 40% of inbound tickets without human escalation
  • Mentored four mid-level engineers through senior-track promotion criteria; two have since been promoted under my technical sponsorship

Full Stack Engineer

Sep 2019 — Nov 2023
Nash· San Francisco, California, United States · Remote

Joined Nash in its earliest days and grew with the company through Y Combinator, Series A, and Series B as it became the operating system for last-mile delivery — orchestrating millions of deliveries for retailers across Uber, DoorDash, Roadie, and dozens of regional carriers. Worked across the merchant dashboard, the orchestration engine, and the carrier integration layer through every meaningful scale step.

  • Shipped the original merchant dashboard (Next.js, GraphQL, Postgres) that took the platform from manual ops to self-serve onboarding — 0 → 500+ merchants on the dashboard before Series A
  • Built the carrier integration layer that brokered deliveries across 15+ third-party providers (Uber, DoorDash, Roadie and others) with consistent retry, observability, and SLA contracts
  • Owned the live tracking and webhook subsystem handling 10M+ delivery state events per month with sub-second p99 fan-out to merchant systems
  • Designed and shipped the rule-based delivery routing engine that reduced average per-delivery cost by 14% across the merchant base by intelligently selecting carriers per region, order, and SLA
  • Re-architected the merchant analytics surface (dashboards, exports, alerting) for the platform's largest enterprise rollouts, unblocking multi-million-dollar ARR contracts
  • Established the team's frontend testing and Storybook practice; rolled out a typed React component library used across every merchant-facing surface
  • Joined as engineer #6 on the product team and helped grow it past 25 across two timezones — owned hiring loops, on-call rotations, and the engineering on-boarding playbook

Front End Expert

Sep 2018 — Jun 2019
Reach· Emeryville, California, United States · Remote

Embedded as a senior contract front-end specialist on a global cross-border commerce platform — building merchant storefront surfaces, the localized checkout, and the shared design system that powered the company's largest enterprise merchants across dozens of regions and currencies.

  • Re-engineered the checkout flow for 30+ locales and 100+ currencies, reducing checkout LCP from 4.1s to 1.2s and lifting conversion by 18% across the largest merchant accounts
  • Built a typed React + TypeScript component library that consolidated four divergent storefront codebases into a single design system, cutting cross-team duplicate work by ~40%
  • Owned the front-end internationalization pipeline (locale negotiation, currency formatting, RTL support, currency-precision rounding) to enterprise-merchant SLA grade
  • Established the front-end performance budget process — Lighthouse CI, RUM dashboards, INP tracking — adopted across the wider product organisation by the end of the engagement
  • Mentored two in-house frontend engineers through the design-system rollout, leaving the team self-sufficient on the new platform after the contract closed

Junior Web Developer

2015 — 2016
Symph· Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines · Remote

Where my career started — shipping client products at one of the Philippines' most respected product studios. Symph is where I learned how distributed teams actually ship, and where I caught the discipline of writing software for real users instead of for myself.

  • Shipped 8 client web applications across the year, ranging from React/Node SaaS dashboards to WordPress + custom-plugin marketing builds
  • Built internal tooling that automated repetitive client-onboarding tasks for the studio's project managers, reclaiming an estimated 6 PM-hours per project
  • Took ownership of the front-end on two production launches before the end of my first year, including a retail brand site that handled the client's biggest annual campaign without incident
  • Contributed to the studio's open-source style-guide and front-end starter, which became a de-facto reference for incoming junior engineers
